Age Of Chivalry makes it two in a row at Sandown

Feb 06, 2019

Age Of Chivalry produced another super performance to remain unbeaten this time in at Sandown.

Age Of Chivalry was a strong first-up winner at Sandown at his previous start before the three-year-old was equally impressive with his success in the Chairman's Club Recognition Handicap (1200m).

The gelding showed good speed from the barrier to roll to the lead under jockey Damian Lane, who rated the son of He’s Remarkable perfectly through the middle stages.

Age Of Chivalry showed he still has a lot to learn about his racing when he wobbled on the home turn but regained his momentum to hold his rivals in the straight, scoring by a half-length.

“He’s a lovely horse,” Lane said.

“He’s still pretty raw and he’s not really sure what it’s all about yet so hopefully that means there’s a bit more improvement to come.

“He got really unbalanced on the point of the turn and he got on the wrong lead (leg) and he took 50 metres to balance back up.”

Lane said Age Of Chivalry showed his competitive nature when challenged in the straight while the promising galloper had plenty of scope for improvement.

“When he heard the other horses coming, he really dug deep,” Lane said.

“He’s got the makings of a nice horse but he just needs time to learn what it’s all about.”

Age Of Chivalry’s second win earned connections another $27,000 in stakes, taking his prizemoney to more than $60,000 from only four starts.

Congratulations to Age Of Chivalry’s owners and all involved with his latest impressive performance.
