Sire: Deep Field

Dam: Indy Game

Colour: Bay

Gender: Colt

Age: 3 year old

Foaled: Sep 3rd, 2016

Country: Australia

Horse Description:

Trainers Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra have already landed two yearlings by the speed machine and were thrilled to get hold of this powerful colt by the record-breaking son of NORTHERN METEOR. DEEP FIELD created a huge impression in his short career, setting a course record for the 1100m at Canterbury at his third start before notching Listed and Group 2 wins at his fourth and fifth runs.

DEEP FIELD was competitive with super sprinters LANKAN RUPEE and BRAZEN BEAU when third in the Newmarket Handicap at his only run at Group 1 level before he moved to stand at Newgate Stud in the Hunter Valley.

DEEP FIELD’s oldest progeny are yearlings but the sire’s produce has fetched unbelievable prices in the sales ring in his first selling season but this colt out of the Adelaide Magic Millions sale represents terrific value for money.

His dam Indy Game is beautifully bred along US lines being a daughter of the Belmont Stakes and Breeders’ Cup Classic winner A.P. INDY, a son of the US Triple Crown winner SEATTLE SLEW. Indy Game has produced the Queensland winner Game Of Dreams from her progeny to race.

This colt is closely related to US Grade 2 winner and successful Australian sire KING CUGAT and a host of stakes winners in the US and Japan. Such international success is no surprise in a family that features the likes of ENCOSTA DE LAGO, SECRETARIAT and FAIRY KING in one pedigree.

Purchased for $50,000 ex at Magic Millions Adelaide - Lot 71
