Ellerton Zahra Racing stocks up at Inglis Melbourne Premier sale

Mar 09, 2016

Ellerton Zahra Racing saw tremendous value and moved strongly to stock up its two-year-old barn for the 2016/17 season at the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.

Trainers Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra refused to fall into the inflated prices that were being asked and paid at the Gold Coast Magic Millions and Karaka yearling sales but identified a batch of value lots in its backyard at Oaklands Junction.

The pair inspected all 755 lots between them before they secured a large proportion of their shortlist, despite sticking rigidly to their valuations of each yearling.

The experts found the best value yearlings at the sale but a filly by All Too Hard was their top lot at $190,000, well below the average price of the sale.

The hard work found plenty of well-priced young horses that would make an outstanding addition to any bloodstock portfolio.

The mix of Ellerton Zahra Racing’s Melbourne Premier purchases is striking with pure speed types as well as some that could develop into lovely three-year-olds among the smart buys at the sale.

Ellerton Zahra Racing has a selection of the terrific Melbourne Premier lots on the ‘Horses Available’ page on the website, including the terrific Master Of Design colt out of Lovely Rita and the smooth-moving son of Street Boss out of Oriental.

Buyers of all types will find a yearling they will love racing in partnership with Ellerton Zahra Racing so why not browse through the yearlings available section or contact the stable for more information on how to get involved with the ownership of EZR’s class of 2016.
