Creativity makes it two in a row at Sandown

Mar 22, 2017

Talented filly Creativity took her talents to the city with a solid win second-up win on the Sandown Hillside circuit.

The three-year-old was stakes-placed on debut at Flemington but competed at the provincials at her only spring run and in her first-up win at Cranbourne on March 3.

Damian Lane rode Creativity in her Cranbourne success and was aboard the daughter of Master Of Design in her win in the Hamilton Reid Accountants Handicap (1400m).

Lane let Creativity travel comfortably midfield before the three-year-old strode into contention at the top of the long Sandown Hillside straight.

Creativity did what she needed to in the straight to get home by three-quarters of a length.

“I thought she’d put them away a bit better than that but she probably just had a good look around,” Simon Zahra, who trains Creativity in partnership with Mathew Ellerton, said.

“It looked like she was comfortable in the run and hit the line OK.

“She got the job done and that’s the main thing.

“She’s got plenty of upside and she’s still learning what it’s all about and she’s going to be a nice valuable asset for the broodmare band.”

Creativity’s success was her second in five starts while the $32,500 in prizemoney and bonuses took her stakes tally to more than $70,000.

Congratulations to great stable supporters Barrie and Midge Griffiths on yet another win in partnership with Ellerton Zahra Racing.
