Essence Of Terror makes it two in a row at Werribee

Nov 29, 2016

The experience of Chris Symons played a large part in Essence Of Terror’s second consecutive win when resuming at Werribee.

Essence Of Terror went out for a spell on a high after a victory on the Geelong Synthetic track in June before picking up where he left off in the Fifth Element Day Spa + Clinic Handicap (1000m).

Essence Of Terror was successful in maiden company but was able to make it two victories in a row courtesy of a smart Chris Symons ride.

Symons was able to get Essence Of Terror to jump quickly from barrier seven to race behind the leader on the rail soon after the start, giving the mare the perfect trip to the home turn.

Essence Of Terror sprinted well before getting the upper hand over a last-start winner to get home a neck to notch her second win in 11 starts.

“She’s a horse with a lot of ability,” Symons said.

“She flew the gates and got into a good position early and was sweating on a run.

“When the run presented, she dove through and it was never in doubt. She’s going to better out over further but I look forward to riding her again for great connections.”

Congratulations to Essence Of Terror’s owners and all involved in her latest success.
