Shamexpress X Scattercat

2 year old Brown Colt

Sire: Shamexpress Dam: Scattercat

It’s easy to put faith in a first-season sire when his stock is as outstanding as this colt by Group 1-winning sprinter SHAMEXPRESS.

SHAMEXPRESS achieved a great feat for a three-year-old when he beat the older horses in the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) down the Flemington straight, clocking the brilliant time of 1:08.16 when he defeated multiple Group 1 winners MOMENT OF CHANGE, LUCKYGRAY, ORTENSIA in his amazing gallop/

SHAMEXPRESS was good enough to return at four to run second in the Group 1 Darley Sprint Classic and the Group 1 Lightning Stakes at weight-for-age, matching strides with the best of his generation, including BUFFERING, LANKAN RUPEE and SAMAREADY.

Shamexpress form part of a crucial trio for New Zealand breeding along with ALAMOSA and SACRED FALLS as sires charged with continuing the legacy of the wonderful stallion O’REILLY after his untimely passing.

This lovely colt is out of the KAAPSTAD mare Scattercat, a winner over 1200m in New Zealand that is a half-sister to the Group 1 winner CAPTIVATE as well as milers Panama and Sonorous, which have both placed at Group 2 level.

Scattercat’s only other foal to race is the promising three-year-old Penthouse Kitten, who is still a maiden but was competitive in the Group 2 Wakeful Stakes (2000m) in the spring at just her third start, suggesting a big autumn is on the way for her.

This lovely colt is a graduate of the Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale at a cost of $45,000 and an inspection of this superb athlete is a must.
