Artie Schiller - Judes Angel 1 year old Bay Colt

Ellerton Zahra Racing is offering a chance to secure a piece of an outstanding colt by one of Australia’s hottest stallion prospects – ARTIE SCHILLER. Artie Schiller sits among the likes of star galloper SPINNING WORLD, LAST TYCOON, GOLDIKOVA and BARATHEA as winners of the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Mile in the US. Artie Schiller has produced terrific athletic types from his first two crops such as Group I Rosehill Guineas winner LASER HAWK as well as Stakes winners SECRET LIAISON, BIG CHILL – trained at Ellerton Zahra Racing – and MOVING MONEY. Ellerton Zahra Racing is offering buyers the chance to get on the Artie Schiller bandwagon at a value price.

The yearling colt is a daughter of the ST JUDE mare JUDE’S ANGEL, who is a half-sister to the champion sprinter FALVELON. Falvelon won Group 1 races all over Australia as well as the prestigious Hong Kong Sprint twice during an illustrious career. Jude’s Angel has produced four winners from as many foals to race, including a city-winning brother to this wonderful colt. With SADLER’S WELLS and NORTHERN DANCER in his paternal pedigree and tough Australian Group 1 winners such as ST JUDE and FALVELON, this colt ticks all the boxes as a terrific investment, especially as he will race in the stable that has unlocked the secret to winning with the progeny of Artie Schiller.

Reaan - Just Pete 1 year old Bay Colt

Ellerton Zahra Racing is offering a chance to get involved in this wonderful colt that carries all of the hallmarks of a Blue Diamond Stakes winner. His sire REAAN won the Blue Diamond and this colt’s dam is a half-sister to another Blue Diamond Stakes winner ROAD TO SUCCESS. REAAN is a son of the terrific stallion HUSSONET, the sire of Group 1 winners such as WEEKEND HUSSLER and EAGLE FALLS. HUSSONET is alos the sire of HUSSON, who has performed amazingly with his first crop. Many prominent breeders expect REAAN’s stock to be up and running early in the 2012-13 season.

This terrific colt’s dam JUST PETE won twice in her short career and has produced three winners from four to race at distances between 1200 and 2010 metres. This athletic youngster has the scope to live up to the deeds of his grand-dam ROADSONG, who posted four Stakes wins over sprint trips while another of this outstanding yearling’s family, CONDOTTI, was also a dual Stakes winner in a career that yielded a Group 3 win.

With the likes of MR PROSPECTOR, DANZIG, DANEHILL, NORTHERN DANCER, ROYAL ACADEMY and NIJINSKY is his pedigree, this horse has a great head-start to his career.

Real Saga - Delori 1 year old Bay Filly

Ellerton Zahra Racing will give you the chance to secure a chance to be up and running early in the new season with this cracking youngster by hot young sire REAL SAGA. The brilliant son of wonderful international sire TALE OF THE CAT scored a Stakes win on debut as a pre-Christmas two-year-old before winning at Group 2 and Group 3 level to go along with a second placing in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes. The outstanding racehorse is set to follow the deeds of another son of TALE OF THE CAT in PURREALIST, who churned out winners from the time his first crop hit the track. REAL SAGA is set to be the next big thing among the freshman sires next season.

The filly is out of an unraced daughter of ROCK OF GIBRALTAR that is packed with black type. Her grand-dam MADONNA was Stakes-placed while further back reveals plenty of strength with an Irish St Leger winner, Irish Oaks placegetter and a Derby winner. This filly is one of the best youngsters you will inspect this season.

Real Saga - Al's Wish 1 year old Chestnut Colt

NEW

A get up and run colt by 2YO Champion and four-time winner Real Saga from a five-time winning mare in Al’s Wish herself also a four-time winner as a 2YO. Real Saga was the standout 2YO racehorse of his generation and finished his 2YO season by being the equal highest rated Timeform 2YO colt of the last 10 years (123 equal with Sebring, Meurice and Charge Forward). He did this with only a six-start racing career that began with an effortless win in the Listed Breeders Plate. Another effortless 1000m win was followed by a commanding victory in the Group 3 Blue Diamond Prelude bolting in by three lengths over Reward For Effort (2nd) and six lengths over Starspangledbanner (3rd). He was then the desperately unlucky runner up as favourite in the Group 1 Blue Diamond. Sydney 2YO riches beckoned and Real Saga handled the change of going with ease by emphatically winning the Group 2 Todman Slipper Trial before his only unplaced finish - a close up fourth as favourite on a heavy 10 in the Group 1 Golden Slipper.

By Flying Spur, Al’s Wish was a five-time city winner including a four-time city winning 2YO. She has had three foals to race for two winners with the 3YO Al’s Pride looking a city class horse (despite his relatively un-commercial sire). Al’s Wish descends from a family of winners with the 2nd Dam - Miss Khozaam - herself a five-time winner but moreso a phenomenal producer. She produced 10 foals for 9 winners including 10 x 2YO winners highlighted by our dam in Al’s Wish. Further down the pedigree are Group 1 winner’s Spyglass and Iron Horse. A cross with the proven success of SAJC Guineas winner in Booklet (by Tale Of The Cat) - this colt is an exciting racing prospect.

“Typically, I tend not to like yearlings by first season sires but this colt looks a real runner to me from a family that has a phenomenal strike-rate of runners to winners! This colt has the physical composition to support a pedigree full of 2YO winners and being by Real Saga - arguably the best 2YO of recent times - he should make a 2YO runner. He’s an October foal but with the breeding he could make a Christmas 2YO proposition. A really exciting racing prospect.”

Magnus - Guild 1 year old Bay Filly

Ellerton Zahra Racing is thrilled to offer this lovely filly by the emerging young sire MAGNUS. MAGNUS is closely related to the world champion sprinter BLACK CAVIAR but was no slouch on the racetrack himself, scoring a brilliant Group 1 win in The Galaxy. MAGNUS never shirked a task as shown by his five Group 1 placings including outstanding performances on the international stage at Royal Ascot and in Singapore. The stallion met and beat the likes of superstars TAKEOVER TARGET, WEEKEND HUSSLER and MISS ANDRETTI as well as Group 1 winners UNDUE and SWICK.

This filly has by GUILD, a well-performed daughter of the terrific sire TESTA ROSSA. GUILD won races at Moonee Valley and Flemington in a career that yielded plenty of prizemoney. This yearling is the first foal of the mare, who hails from the family as stakes winners TOP DANCE, DANCING SCULPTOR and SMYTZER’S RIVALRY. There are stakes winners and city winners all the way through both sides of this girl’s terrific pedigree.

Lingo 2 year old Bay Gelding

His sire, Stratum, is a Golden Slipper winner. Stratum only needed one crop to produce a Golden Slipper winner of his own in Crystal Lily and this terrific type will be trained by a Golden Slipper-winning stable, Ellerton Zahra Racing. Ellerton and Zahra are also the only men to have prepared offspring of Stratum to a Group I win but Stratum has had six stakes winners from just two crops. All bar one of Stratum’s stakes winners have achieved their black type success as two-year-olds with the likes of Spectrolite, Pellizotti, Eramor and Estrato to score stakes wins on both sides of the Tasman Sea.

This gelding is out of the Mossman mare Jargon, a daughter of the Group II and Group I placegetter winner Orsay and counts classy stakes winners such as Hire, Lease, Prankster, Fantasia and Enzedex Eagle among his relatives.

Trainer comments: “He’s a precocious looking son of Stratum with a colonial pedigree which fits our criteria. His full sister is the metropolitan performed mare, More Than Words, who has been placed in Sydney this season. We think he’s the sort of colt who is just going to keep improving with everything he does. Artie Schiller - Gilded Asset 2 year old Bay or Brown Gelding

Perfect timing is a hallmark of any successful purchase and the time to invest in this cracking gelding by first-season sire Artie Schiller. Artie Schiller was an outstanding racehorse, winning the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Mile in 2001, easily beating boom sires Ad Valorem, Host and Valixir as well as Leroidesanimaux, the sire of Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom. Artie Schiller has made a splash in Australia with his first crop of two-year-olds exceeding all expectations, the sire has produced seven winners from his first 14 runners. Artie Schiller’s strike rate with two-year-olds is superior to Exceed And Excel, Stratum, Lohnro, Fastnet Rock and Snitzel. Artie Schiller’s star is set to rise, his yearlings will be much more expensive next year, the time is right to strike and buy into this terrific producer.

The terrific individual is the second foal of the unraced Gilded Time mare Gilded Asset. Gilded Asset’s other offspring is a two-year-old by Grey Swallow, who is also in the Ellerton Zahra Racing stable. Ellerton and Zahra have already proven they know how to handle Artie Schiller’s progeny by producing Hidden Symbol to win at Flemington before being killed in a paddock accident, upcoming talent in American Dream, and stakes winner Secret Liason.
